    IN OTHER NEWS!
Ha ha, I bought tickets to go see New Kids on the Block on October 3rd in Cleveland.  Make fun of me all you want, but I'm so happy and excited.  I have a feeling the seats may be a bit crappy... they are 13 rows from the stage, but are at an angle next to it.  Not sure how it's gonna' be, but I don't care.  I was debating on going, and was listening to some NKOtB mp3s I had when I realized how this music from when i was younger made me so happy.  So, screw it, I bought the expensive seats and I'm going.  I even got an original Joey McIntyre shirt to wear off of eBay - just like the one I had when I was 12.  Ha ha ha!  Nostalgia does weird things to us all.

I have something else to report on, but I'm going to write a full journal review later.  You see, I saw a movie.  Yes, I saw the Batterman movie - but that is NOT what I am going to talk about.  I purchased and viewed this fellow's movie, http://www.youtube.com/user/davinpilling

Now, Mr. Pilling's movie is rough... and may look a bit hokey and only consisting of the ramblings of a lunatic.  I confess, this is why I bought it in the first place, but I have to tell you - THIS MAN IS AWESOME!  I have never seen such positivity in a person.  The movie covers 6 months of his life, and is a very interesting watch.  You'll laugh at him, you'll cry with him, and you'll wonder how the hell he makes it through every day being so eccentric!  He may have changed my life, at least a bit.  I plan on writing a full review later, as mentioned.

    Thant's all for now!

    How to Draw Scooby-Doo

    .
    Here's a viddy of Bob drawing Scooby-Doo.
    .

    .
Do you have a favorite Hanna Barbera character? Who would you like to see Bob draw? Pebbles? Tom and Jerry? Shaggy? Being a bookish nerd girl, I vote for Velma. :-)
    .
    Enjoy!

    Chocolate Orange Brownies
Sometimes I bake. But in a lazy way.

1- Take Duncan Hines Low Fat Brownie Mix [no eggs needed!]
2- In the 1/2 cup of water, stir in a single packet of some kind of cirtrus drink mix [like say, Crystal Light or a store brand version of it]
3- add orangy mixture [in my case, Tangerine Grapefruit] to brownie mix, stir and bake away.

I've also made some good brownies by using this mix, and adding in frozen mixed berries[or cranberries] and some chopped up strawberries.

    Art Hunt!
It was a long week, but my mom sailed through the surgery with flying colors and is home now happily bopping around with her walker. Whew! I am relieved! My thanks to all the wonderful nurses and therapists at Hoag Hospital!
    .
We have been busy the last couple days with artists friends Billy, Kelsey and Adam who are here from Minnesota. They are putting on an Art Hunt. If you live in Orange County you must take your kids to the park and look for hidden art!

    Chapter 4, pages 42, 43, 44 | 7 new fanart | 20 new fan icons

Um, hi. So. The way my life has been lately, I've found it easier to work on the comic when I think of it as something I do purely for my own enjoyment, without pressure to meet expectations. Unfortunately, this means that I've been neglecting you guys in terms of emails and posts, to say nothing of new pages. I'm very sorry about that. I apologize to anyone who might have worried I was lying in a ditch somewhere having my face chewed off by monitor lizards, and I'm deeply grateful to everyone for their patience and understanding these past months. It continually amazes me that even during the long dry spells people still think of the comic enough to send me emails and make fanworks, as evidenced by the gorgeous new pieces added to the gallery.

So, anyway, go read the new pages, and I promise that the next set will not take another three months. ^^;; To keep track of updates, as always, there's the mailing list or the Livejournal feed, which doubles as an RSS feed.

Oh, and I'm afraid I've decided to take down the shoutbox. For comments and discussion, there's still the forum; or, you can leave comments on the LJ.

    Card Snark
[info]dryponder alerted me to a few or my Marvel sketch cards on ebay already.

    Vulture
    Namor
    Iron Man
    Magneto

    EDIT: Found another:
    The Thing

I don't get any money from these ebay sales (it's all fair), I'm just pointing them out as it's weird and cool to see these there.

If you are thinking of bidding on them maybe I can just draw you a new copy instead?

    MONSTER MILK CO-OP at SDCC

I found out that a table has come available to myself and friends for San Diego. This is a last minute thing, so I wasn't really prepared to sell anything. I will have about 50 Death FAQ vol. 1 to sell, a few prints and a bunch of original daily grind art. I'll be selling original Fistman pages and some small framed arts too.

I'm not sure how much I am allowed to say, and who is all involved with the Monster Milk Co-Op, but I will say thanks to those who made it possible when I know I've been clearance to do so. Thanks!

So far, contributing members to the table are:
    Zach Marcus[info]ao_hatefulrobot  , Tylersaurus [info]tylerhutchison , Becky and Frank
possibly Jamie Dee Galey [info]himynameisjamie  and a couple people I havn't met yet? Details were hastily relayed to me by Zach yesterday. So if any of you guys read this, and can fill me in on the rest I'll amend this post to reflect more accurate information.

We'll likely be rotating so we can all get around the floor. Stop by and say hello if you can!

Okay, so we're a little competitive...
Some people buy sports cars, some start up illicit affairs...

trust my brother to set the bar so insanely high even when it comes to mid-life craziness!

These are pictures of my fifty year old brother competing in the 2008 Swim Around the Rock last weekend. He finished in seventh place over-all, and in second place for his division. (Men’s Skins…yes, he did this without a wet suit.) He swam 3.25 miles in water that was about 58 degrees. He swam from the beach at Aquatic Park in San Francisco out and around Alcatraz (The Rock) and back in a total time of 1:28:57.

I am terribly proud of him, and I thank God that I don’t have the slightest inclination to do anything remotely like this!

    House of Freaks comic
    ~~

Recently our New England comics collective Trees & Hills released our new music-related anthology of comics. It comes with a CD of tunes by comic creators. I have a goofy track on there. Here's my comic for the book, a 5-page non-fiction retelling of what happened to a band I like.

it gets sadder under the cut... )

I'm looking forward to drawing something a bit lighter for our next anthology, which is all about FOOD. Hellz yes.
